Guest Post: Poor Pitiful Pearl

Hey everyone.

Its Shauna, from Poor Pitiful Pearl.
What an exciting time for The Vedder family.. I am honored to fill in here on her lovely blog in this blessed season of their lives. I am currently reading an awesome book that came to me with many referrals, The Makers Diet. I thought I would share some interesting tidbits with you from the book in hopes to spark an inspiration to take better care of our bodies.. So far as Im going through it ..it has really inspired me and educated me in new ways. Lets just dig in...

Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food;their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear much fruit every month, because they will be for food, and their leaves for medicine. -Ezekiel 47:12

Aloe Vera: purges the stomach and lower intestines when taken internally.(exercise caution here), and it aids healing of open sores. It has anesthetic and antibacterial properties and literally increases blood or lymph flow in small vessels when applied topically.

Black Cumin: Purges the body of worms and parasites. The presence of anti-tumor sterol, beta sitosterol, lends some credence to its us in folklore to treat abscesses and tumors of the abdomen, eyes and liver.

Cumin: has incredible antioxidant properties, used to treat abnormal heartbeat, asthma, dermatitis, and impotence. The oil of this seed has been used as a disinfectant. Loads of anti-inflammatory compounds, great for carpal tunnel.

Garlic: Infection fighter, discourages mosquitoes and ticks. Stimulates immune system and treats asthma, diabetes, and high blood pressure.

Myrrh: used in mouthwashes to stop infections, contains a compound called " furanosequiterpenoid" which deactivates a protein in cancer cells that resists chemotherapy. Proven effective against leukemia, breast cancer, cancers of prostate, ovaries and lung.

Hyssop: This herb also called Marjoram is a very effective digestive aid. Hyssop stops bleeding and masks odors, remedies colds, inflammation and rheumatism.

A morning Prayer for healing:
Father God.. I thank you for creating me in your image.
I praise you that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
I confess you are the God that heals, my great Physician.
I ask you to heal my body from the top of my head to the soles of my feet. I pray that you would regenerate every bone, joint, tendon, ligament, tissue, organ and cell of my body.
This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.

You will have plenty of goats' milk to feed you and your family and to nourish your servant girls. - Proverbs 27:27

In bible time the milk consumed from cow or goat were consumed straight from the animal, stock full of live enzymes. These enzymes provide excellent health benefits in contrast to todays pasteurized , homogenized often skimmed and refortified milks, which is less nutritious, harmful and a major cause of allergies and heart disease.

Reasons to go- GOAT! :
-less allergenic
-does not surpress immune system like cows milk
-more buffering capacity than antacids
-alkalinizes the digestive system
-Does not produce mucous
-Contains twice the healthful medium chain fatty acids such as caprice and caprylic acids which are highly antimicrobial.
